1.8 - Disadvantages of Internet

 While the internet can be a great force for good, there are many negative aspects to it, for both individuals and organisations:

For individuals: 

• Data theft: The internet allows anyone to access vast amounts of data, this means that is is possible for hackers to access and steal sensitive data
• Cost of connection: The internet can be expensive to access as ISPs charge large fees for service and hardware can also come at a high cost to the consumer

For organisations:

• Malicious attacks: Malicious files or hacking can cause organisations to lose large amounts of data, often causing profits to fall
• Cost of  maintenance: Data stores and servers can be very expensive to run and maintain. They are also difficult to set up and often require professional assistance
